Carri - Owner

Hi, I’m Myhra Jones.

Kittyland started in April, 2009 by Carri who has been an animal lover since she was young. Carri has over 35+ years of proffesional experience in the animal care industry. Her previous business, of 20 years, Carri’s Critter Sitting Service taught her the importance of animal care in a way that allows her to care for each animal’s different and individual needs. Carri wanted to open a “cats-only” boarding facility to provide top notch care in a peaceful environment for kitties of all kinds and ages to enjoy while their families are away.

Our team consists of a small group of loving caregivers who ensure that each kitty receives the best care possible. Carri works along side her mother Sharon, daughter Casie, and close friend Mary.

About Kittyland

Kittyland Resort prides itself on maintaining exceptionally high standards in both service and hospitality when caring for all of our feline guests. We recognize the different needs of our feline family and have specifically designed individual accommodations to make your cat's stay as stress free and enjoyable as possible. Our feline guests have multiple accomadations options which include deluxe condos, cottages and themed suites.

Our hands-on team of affectionate cat lovers recognizes each cat has their own personality and individual needs. We work hard to make each guest feel at home. You can be assured your cat will have plenty of loving attention during their stay.

Cats enjoy the "protected" feeling they get from being placed in a deluxe condo, cottage, and or suite while being boarded. Your cat will probably want to sit in the corner of their unit and observe, until they feel comfortable in their new environment. Human contact does not nessesarily accelerate this period of acclimatizing. It has to take place at the cat's own speed. A common reaction of kitty owners to the idea of boarding is "kitty loves to run around." Perhaps they might at home, but while they're adjusting in an unfamiliar surroundings, their private space gives them a feeling of safety and security.

Cats exercise isometrically. This means that when a cat has enough room to stretch, they can exercise every muscle in their body. When your cat is in new surroundings, around new cats, they will prefer safety over space for the time being until they are acclimated. With time most, if not all kitties begin to recognize Kittyland as a safe space from home and are able socialize more naturally. Understanding how kitties react in these environments and allowing them to settle at their own pace gives them the comfort they need to settle in during their stay.

At Kittyland Resort we take pride in our quaint “Cats Only” lodging where “Cats Rule and Dogs Drool”! We have 42 condos (split into 4 rooms), 7 "Luxury Themed Suites", and 7 cottages, which gives our little friends more individual time with our staff’s laps and more time in the playrooms throughout their stays. Each kitty is met at their own comfort level and need to provide a fun and relaxing experience during their stay.
